Quotas were set to reflect the population distribution by age, education, gender, settlement size, region, and ethnicity. The main survey sample included 1,200 respondents. In addition, a boost (oversampling) of respondents of Hungarian ethnicity was conducted, adding 190 respondents. Number of cases: 1390 Abstract: The GEOPREF survey explores geopolitical preferences, attitudes towards the past, Hungarian ethnic identity and other related political topics in Slovakia. The main nationally representative survey was designed to answer research questions related to geopolitical preferences (i.e. which geopolitical bloc individuals prefer) and the potential factors (historical, political, etc.) that might influence these preferences in the Slovak context. In addition to the main focus, the survey includes questions that measure geopolitical preferences in different ways. This was intended to help understand how different measurements and scales might influence the distribution of these preferences. In addition to the main survey, an extra 190 observations of ethnic Hungarians were collected to overrepresent this minority and to increase statistical power when conducting analyses focused on this group. This additional survey included questions about the relationship between Slovak Hungarians and Slovakia and Hungary.
